Jenda Legenda

(CZ)

WizArts / Fenix Festival

Jenda is a life long music admirer and explorer. There are stories, that as a youngling he regularly refused to come out of car until the Mozart or Vivaldi concert finished, he also very early begun to love cassettes and managed his own collection and recordings, ranging a pretty eclectic taste from classical music, berlin electronic, psychedelic rock and world music. There are also stories, that he had an obsession with disassembling cassettes and trying to reassembling them, which wasn’t always a successful mission, which was a problem especially when dads cassettes were in danger. Speaking of dad, it was only thanks to his passion for music that young Jenda had the ability to hear Pink Floyd, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, New Order, John Lennon, Peter Gabriel, Delerium, Mind-Flux and many many more…

Later on, Jenda played piano and for a brief moment also studied improvisation and sound engineering, he also played with computers a lot and begun to like hi-fi sound to discover all sorts of details in the music… But rather than investing a lot of time to create his own music, he always like more to invest time to rather listen to music, and explore all sorts of genres, read about artists, history, development… Which over the years accumulated and finally in 2014 he decided to give back in a way and started DJing.

In his sets he likes to emphasise all the good things from the track he plays and that’s why he often includes a lot from the beginning from the track and/or from the end of the track… He also likes to mix across more genres, mixing music not by directly related style and bassline but rather by atmosphere and harmony.

Jenda likes to play psychedelic chillout, psytrance, techy and proggys stuff but also ambient. In the beginning of his engagement in the culture he also liked to play b2b quite often, resulting in project Jádro Pudla with dear like-minded friend Maara, but also in quite a few oldschool goa trance sets with an old friend Jonah Moses.

At Fenix Festival, you can expect three sets from him:

  • psybass set at groove stage
  • goa-proggy-zenon sunset set at main stage
  • space and drone ambient set at psybient stage

All these on Saturday

If you read up until this point, let me know and I will buy you a beer, if you buy me one too :D
